"What No One knew of the Dead Man" is story no. 2 of the "Truths of Illusion" Series, set in Venezuela between the 1970s-90s.

Régulo Montoya is a faithful employee of "El Venezolano" Financial Group. He lives with his mother, sister and two nephews. His passions are: his Suzuki van van 125 motorbike, playing chess, and the lottery he plays loyally every Friday.

It's Friday, April 16, 1976. Later that day, Régulo finds out that he has to work overtime to update some financial statements that his boss forgot to give him. During a break, Régulo hears the lottery drawing on the radio, and learns that he is the happy winner of thirty million dollars.

To celebrate, he gets drunk, tells his family and before long, all of Venezuela knows.

Then, Régulo gets killed in a hit-and-run car accident, which raises the issue of who will be the heir to his fortune. To worsen matters, Régulo wrote up a will five years ago, after a steamy night in Rio with Zenaida.

Now, someone has to travel to Rio to track her down…but why hasn't she stayed in touch all of these years?
